What Not to Put Down Any Drain ...

Blue Drop Plumbers are often called to deal with tough Clogs and Backups in Kitchen and Bathroom Sinks, tubs, toilets and the Main Sewer Line. Our expert Plumbers have just about seen it all, so, to help everyone out lets discuss what can NOT go down your Drains without causing havoc to your Home or Business Plumbing.
  • Food Scraps { Egg Shells, Tea Leaves, Coffee Grinds, Fruit and Vegetable Peels, ETC }
  • Cotton Balls
  • Wipes of any sort
  • Feminine Hygiene Products
  • Paper Towels & Tissue
  • Fat, Grease or Oils
  • Medications
  • Cleaning Products
  • Cat Litter
  • Cigarette Butts
  • Grain, Seeds, Rice, Pasta, ETC
  • Nail Polish or Nail Polish Remover
  • Dental Floss
  • Bandages, Gauze, ETC
Now you know what not to put down your Drains, but what should I do with them instead? You might be thinking. Well lets talk specifically about a few that are a pain to dispose of.
  1. FATS, GREASES & OILS: When cooking wait for the Oil or Grease to cool off, then pour it in a spare jar. Keep the jar in the Kitchen in a handy spot and dispose of it only when you have filled it up.
  2. FOOD SCRAPS: Throw them in the Green Garbage Bin. Save your Plumbing & Save the Planet - 2 birds with one stone.
  3. MEDICATIONS: Always dispose of these properly at a household waste site. Specially if the Medications are Expired, you don't want any animals consuming them or it getting in the wrong hands.
Remember, your Drains are not a trash can! Treat them with care and you’ll end up saving yourself a lot of Money and Headaches in the long run.
